Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp hopes a clearout will allow him to buy a major name before Tuesday's deadline.

The Daily Star Sunday says Spurs are involved in a pre-deadline clear-out which could enable Redknapp to make a major signing before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

One of them is Brazil striker Leandro Damiao, 22, but his club - Internacional - are now demanding £24m.

Spurs also face competition from Carlo Ancelotti's mega-rich PSG.
