Tottenham are planning a bid for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.
The Daily Star says Andre Villas-Boas has made a daring attempt to snatch the Spanish international after losing out to his London rivals in the chase for Willian.
Spurs were furious when their bid to sign the £30m Brazilian was hijacked by the Blues last week after he had flown into London for negotiations and even passed a medical at White Hart Lane.
But Tottenham believe unsettled Mata would be interested in making the move across the capital.
