Tottenham pair targeting triumph in Belgium

Tottenham Hotspur duo Christian Eriksen and Clinton N'Jie have expressed their desire of earning a victory against Anderlecht in the midweek Europa League clash.

Tottenham have a poor record away from home in the Europa League and Spurs will surely be in for a tough encounter when they travel to Belgium to square off against Anderlecht on Thursday.

Midfielder Eriksen is well aware of Spurs' poor away record and the Denmark international has now expressed his desire to put the record straight.

Eriksen told the club's official website: "We want to do well in our European games at home and away. We didn't get the result we wanted in Monaco so we want to get the right one in Anderlecht now.

"If we're to continue in the group and go on to qualify we need a win. We really want to win these games as quickly as possible so we can focus on the Premier League as well."

Winger Clinton N'Jie believes that Anderlecht are a tough team to play against but is confident of Spurs claiming a win on Thursday night.

N'Jie said: "Anderlecht are a very good team and I think they're going to be well-prepared to play against us. I think it's possible to win over there, but it depends on us. We need to be determined and work hard.

"It's important for us to win most of the matches in the Europa League – it's a good competition to be in so we'll be looking to win the game in Anderlecht and try to qualify as fast as possible."
