Tottenham are in talks for CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia.
The London Evening Standard says Doumbia is on Spurs' radar as they seek to improve their firepower next month.
Doumbia's current salary is about £54,000 a week, which is well within Spurs' price range. The buy-out clause is set at close to £25million, though Spurs would try to negotiate a price well below that.
The 26-year-old has an impressive goalscoring record since moving to Russia in 2010 and CSKA are willing to consider offers as they are no longer involved in European competition.
His retirement from international football last summer, after he was not named in the Ivory Coast's World Cup squad, is also a factor in his favour, as it means Doumbia is highly unlikely to be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.
