Tottenham open informal talks with France boss Blanc

Tottenham have begun talks with France manager Laurent Blanc according to Sky Sports.

The North London club are searching for a replacement following the sacking of Harry Redknapp last week and it is believed that they have opened preliminary discussions with the Frenchman.

Blanc is currently overseeing Les Bleus at Euro2012 and cannot enter official discussions whilst he is leading his nation but it is apparent that he is now aware of Tottenham's interest.

However, former Manchester United defender Blanc is one of many candidates being targeted by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who has also held informal talks with a number of other managers.

Some names being linked with the White Hart Lane vacancy include former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, Wigan Athletic's Roberto Martinez and Everton's David Moyes but it seems that the latter will remain on Merseyside.
