Premier League clubs are chasing Lazio defender Modibo Diakite.

The Mirror says Tottenham, Norwich City and Fulham are moving for the Bosman prospect.

Tottenham lead the chase for the 26 year-old, with manager Andre Villas-Boas seeing him as someone capable of playing the high defensive line that he has introduced so effectively at White Hart Lane.

"The player is out of contract in June 2013 and we are evaluating several proposals from Italy and the rest of Europe, including the UK," agent Ulisse Savini told the Mirror.

"The English league attracts us a lot and certainly if there a real chance to evaluate, but no club has sent us concrete offers, so we are still waiting."
