Tottenham have made a move for Lazio defender Modibo Diakite.

TMW says Spurs and Newcastle United have approached Lazio about a price for Diakite ahead of the January market.

The Frenchman has been a mainstay of Lazio's defence this season and his form has not gone unnoticed in England.
