Tottenham new boys will take time to adjust - AVB

Andre Villas-Boas has warned Tottenham fans to expect a transition phase as the clubs new signings adjust to life at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have now lost Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and have looked to replace him by bringing in a number of new players including Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Erik Lamela.

Following the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, Villas-Boas hinted that it may take a little while to get the new-look squad up to scratch.

"It's difficult because we haven't had time to do that (gel the players)," he told Sky Sports.

"We played the Europa League game on Thursday night and again on Sunday. We are always recovering from the game before.

"We haven't had enough time at this moment to put the team together. The players did extremely well, just not enough to come away with something."
