Tottenham must pay Sissoko to leave

Tottenham face having to cover a percentage of Moussa Sissoko's wages to get him off the books.

The Daily Mail says the France international has indicated he is keen to leave White Hart Lane this summer after failing to play regularly under Mauricio Pochettino last season.

Similarly, Tottenham are ready to cut their losses on a player they paid a staggering £30million for on the final day of last summer's transfer window.

However, Sissoko's wages — believed to be in the region of £85,000 per week — are proving a major stumbling block towards the midfielder's potential exit this summer.

Marseille have shown an interest in Sissoko but are reluctant to match the former Newcastle man's existing pay deal. In that mind, Tottenham face the possibility of having to supplement the 27-year-old's wages in a bid to move him on this summer.
