Tottenham are moving to beat Manchester United for Valencia winger David Silva.

Spanish sources say Silva is ready to quit Valencia for Manchester United.

But it is thought Tottenham are preparing a £28m offer to outbid their rivals.

Silva said: "I am very aware of the Premier League, and in recent years it has been the stand-out league in the world. If it came calling, especially if it was a club like Manchester United, it would be very hard to resist."
