Tottenham midfielder Steven Pienaar may avoid groin surgery.
He feared going under the knife following problems in both groin muscles when he joined up with his country.
But Pienaar, 29, signed from Everton for £3million during the January transfer window, is set to captain Bafana Bafana against Egypt today in Johannesburg.
South Africa team doctor Ephraim Nematswerani said: "Pienaar trained with his team-mates on Wednesday and Thursday.
"I can safely say the team has a clean bill of health."
Spurs have four games in 11 hectic days after the international break, including two Champions League clashes against Real Madrid.
