Tottenham midfielder Parker eager to test himself against Spain

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker is excited to test himself against Spain.

Parker is expected to start for England in the glamour friendly.

"It is obviously going to be a very difficult game - we all see the quality and the class Spain have," Parker said.

"Certainly for me, it's a game where you come up against the best and that is what I relish, really. I am going to try to match the best and as difficult as that may be, they are the benchmark we have to match.

"But we are England and I think we have played well in the last few months, although it was a very difficult game in Montenegro. We got the result we needed and that was the important thing that night.

"I watch a lot of Spanish football. Any opportunity I can get to watch Spain or Barcelona, I will take it. It is very pleasing and entertaining to watch and you know when you sit and watch a Barcelona game, there are things they do that make you just go 'wow'.

"Spain are the same and anybody would surely want the chance to test themselves against players like Xavi and Andres Iniesta. I'm no different and having been out of the England set-up for so long, the chance to play against a team like Spain does not come along very often so everyone who plays should grab it with both hands."
