This weekend, Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios returns to Wigan Athletic for the first time since last year's move.

Having played alongside the little Honduran for 12 months, Paul Scharner is well aware of the challenge that awaits him in the midfield battle.

He told the Wigan Observer: "Wilson was a very, very nice lad and we all got on with him while he was here. But I am looking forward to tackling him on Sunday and maybe kicking him once or twice!

"Seriously, he was one of the best players we had at Wigan.

"And it has not surprised me at all to see how well he has done since he has been there at Tottenham."
