Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is confident of playing his way back into the England squad.
In his column for the London Evening Standard, Jenas wrote: "It is always frustrating not to be involved with England during international weeks but sometimes you can be chosen in the squad, go away for 10 days and not play for a single minute. That can be even harder to take than being left out in the first place.
"When you get to this stage of the season, you always have niggles and things that are hurting, so this is a good opportunity for me to work hard on the fitness and get myself in good shape for the last period of the season.
"Of course, it has been very quiet at Tottenham with so many of the lads away playing for their countries. There are players still here like Tom Huddlestone and Jonathan Woodgate and hopefully this break will be good for them. They're trying to get in as much fitness work as possible so they can be around for the run-in.
"So while I'm disappointed not to be involved with England, it's not something I'm worried about. I know how good I am and I'm very confident I'll be back in the fold."
