Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks' Spain ambitions have been debunked.
Spanish expert Guillem Balagué says that it is Winks' great grandparents - not his grandparents - who are from the country.
This would mean that the Spurs youth product, who made his England Under-21 debut in a friendly against France in November, is not Spanish qualified.
Balagué also reports that the RFEF are fully aware that Winks is ineligible for consideration by national coach Julen Lopetegui:
"On Harry Winks. His great grandparents (not his grandparents) are Spanish which doesn't qualify him 2 play for Spain. The Spanish FA know it "
