Tottenham youngster Nabil Bentaleb has pledged his international future to Algeria.
The 19-year-old was born in France to Algerian parents and could have represented either of those countries, while the English FA were also reported to be interested.
"He has agreed to play for the country of his parents after meeting Algerian Football Federation president Mohamed Raouaraoua," the Algerian federation said in a statement.
"Bentaleb will be called up for the next phase of the national team's preparations on March 1, ahead of the match against Slovenia on March 5 in Blida."
