Mauricio Pochettino could only wish Sam Allardyce all the very best upon his appointment as England manager.
The 61-year-old recently departed his role with Sunderland to replace Roy Hodgson in the FA hot seat which prompted questions from reporters directed at Tottenham Hotspur manager Pochettino.
The Argentine admitted he could not fully evaluate the situation by speaking with his Three Lions stars Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, but could only offer his best to Allardyce, who signed a two-year deal on July 22.
"I wish all the best to Sam Allardyce and the FA and English football," said Pochettino in Melbourne ahead of their 2016 ICC clash with Juventus.
"We hope that it goes well for him.
"The appointment was only the day before we came here. I have had no time to speak with my England internationals.
"I do not know what thoughts they have.
"It is difficult for me to analyse. Only I can wish Sam the best. I think it is always important for English football to have success."
