Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is pushing to beat Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for Porto star Hulk. The Daily Mail says the Brazilian arrived in London on Tuesday night as part of the Olympic team contingent who are due to face Great Britain on Friday.
The powerful 25-year-old was widely expected to join Chelsea this summer with Porto holding out for £38million but Tottenham hope to convince him with the prospect of more regular first team football and negotiate a drop in the fee with Porto.
Hulk wants wages of around £100,000 a week but Tottenham have had to broker a similar pay deal for Emmanuel Adebayor. Manchester City and Chelsea will monitor developments though.
