Tottenham are ready to make an opening bid for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.

The Daily Mail says Tottenham are to make a £15million offer for Brazilian midfielder Paulinho to head off competition from Roma and Inter Milan.

The Corinthians star is said to prefer a move to the Barclays Premier League.

Tottenham may need to increase their planned bid to land him as his buy-out clause stands at £18m although they have been encouraged that he would be attracted by a move to London.
