Tottenham are launching a bid for Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
The 22 year-old centre-half has spoken this week of an ambition of playing for Manchester United or Arsenal.
However, French sources say Spurs have asked Montpellier to name their price for Yanga-Mbiwa. The 22 year-old is under consideration as Spurs weigh up new contract offers to Ryan Nelsen, William Gallas and Ledley King.
