Tottenham failed with a late bid for Catania defender Nicolas Spolli.

Sky Italia says Spurs offered £7 million for Spolli late, last night.

But the Sicilians turned down the bid with no time to find a replacement.

Argentine Spolli, 30, has been with Catania since 2009.
