Tottenham legend Gary Lineker has hit out at the snubbing of David Beckham by Team GB.

Using Twitter to voice his opinion, he believes Beckham has been treated shabbily.

"Never thought for a second that David Beckham would be excluded from GB's team. Then again Stuart Pearce has always been his own man," Lineker tweeted.

"Terrible shame for Beckham having given so much to the Olympic bid and football.

"Their are arguments for and against GB selection. What i don't understand though, is why string him along by including him in a short list?".
