Tottenham legend Hoddle: Lets see how Ozil goes against Barry

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle has been impressed by Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil at the World Cup.

Ozil is being tracked by Chelsea and Arsenal.

Ahead of England's clash with Germany, Hoddle told the Daily Mail: "He is a half and half player, who plays at the top of the midfield, but can make clever, well-timed runs beyond the forward line. England need to be aware of the ball over the top or through the middle of their central defenders.

"This is where Gareth Barry needs to have his radar switched on, staying close and consistent with the two defenders behind him. His job will be to watch Ozil's runs and pick him off. England need to respect him and stifle him. Let's close down the young man and see how he plays under pressure. He's not the complete player yet and this will be the biggest game of his career. Let's find out how he handles that. He's due an off game and let's make sure this is it."
