Tottenham are launching a bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

The Daily Star says Benteke, 22, scored 19 goals in 34 games this season and single-handedly helped Villa steer clear of relegation.

His goal-scoring exploits have attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City while clubs on the continent - including Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid - are also monitoring his situation closely.
