Tottenham are launching a bid for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.

The Mirror says Spurs had an approach for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder turned down 12 months ago.

Back then, he would have cost them over £30million.

Meyer has since refused to sign a new deal and, with just 12 months left to run on his current contract, has indicated he could move on for what would be a cut-price fee.
