Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp hopes to sign Espanyol fullback Steve Finnan on-loan.

The Daily Mail says Finnan is due at Spurs on an initial loan deal as Redknapp begins making changes to improve the squad he inherited from Juande Ramos.

Finnan, 32, signed a two-year contract for Espanyol after leaving Liverpool on transfer deadline day in September, but has played just four times in Spain. Redknapp, who has been told by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that the club will only make loan signings in the transfer window, will make an approach for Finnan at the start of next month.
