Tottenham keeper Gomes seeks to end row with PSV officials

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has moved to end a row with PSV Eindhoven chiefs.

Gomes upset officials by going on a lap of honour during their game with VVV Venlo.

"I had nothing to do with organising that scene. It was the first time I'd returned to the stadium. I was in the right place at the wrong time," said the former PSV keeper.

"This has caused some confusion. I'm sorry. It was never my intention. The supporters came up to me, asking me to come over. After the break there were more. I was emotionally touched by the reception in the stadium, I could not say no.

"In hindsight I should have done."
