Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is determined to be Harry Redknapp's No1.

Ex-PSV Eindhoven keeper Gomes is determined to justify Redknapp's faith and enjoy a good season.

Gomes said: "The injury has improved very quickly and physically I am now close to being match fit and ready for the next game.

"I'm very happy that the club have stuck with me, the manager has shown faith in me and that is so important to me.

"They could have signed a new keeper but I want to show I can be the first choice and keep improving."
