Tottenham can take some encouragement and motivation from their comeback against FC Basel on Thursday night.
Spurs fought back from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw with the Swiss champions in the Europa League quarter-final first leg at White Hart Lane and Friedel suggests it will give them impetus to kick on and record a win in Basel next Thursday.
"When you're down 2-0, to come back, we can take a little bit of encouragement from that," Friedel told ITV.
"But we didn't start the game well, we know that and the gaffer had some words at half-time.
"It will be tough out there, but we've got a lot of quality in our squad."
