Tottenham keeper Friedel delighted with Newcastle draw

Goalkeeper Brad Friedel was delighted with Tottenham's tough showing in despite giving up the lead on two occasions at Newcastle United yesterday.

Spurs twice took the lead against the unbeaten Magpies at St James' Park but were eventually held to a 2-2 draw and although they held sway on the scoreboard at times, American veteran Friedel was happy to come away with a share of the points as the home side looked extremely dangerous throughout.

"When you get into these games and perhaps you are not at your best, it's really important not to lose," Friedel told the club's official website.

"You always want to keep a run of not losing going. Yes, we would have loved the three points and perhaps we should have killed off the game.

"But coming to Newcastle, it's tough, and we'll take the point."
