Tottenham are investigating claims that Arsenal crock Bacary Sagna was spat on by fans during Sunday's derby.

The Mirror says Tottenham officials will study CCTV footage following claims Bacary Sagna was spat on during Sunday's north-London derby at White Hart Lane.

Sagna suffered a fractured fibula in his right leg when he crashed into the advertising hoarding midway through the second half of the defeat to rivals Spurs.

Fans on social networking websites and message boards accused one Spurs fan of spitting on the France full-back as he lay injured by the touchline.

Spurs have been made aware of the claims and are gathering evidence.
