Tottenham have opened talks with the camp of Palermo defender Matias Silvestre.

TMW says Silvestre's agent, Pablo Cosentino, met with Spurs officials in London yesterday to begin negotiations.

It was a preliminary meeting, which ended positively with a handshake and agreement to schedule further talks.

Tottenham asked about Silvestre's interest in a move and informed Cosentino they will be prepared to table an offer to him.
