Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is giving Ryan Mason every chance of proving his fitness for this week's meeting with Leicester City.
The 23-year old attacking midfielder sustained an ankle injury in the first half of the 2-1 home win over Burnley on Saturday and is in doubt to face the Foxes on Boxing Day.
However, Pochettino feels Mason is still a chance of being selected if everything over the next few days goes to plan.
"We have more training ahead before making a decision but he's getting better," Mauricio told the club's official website. "We hope he's ready for Leicester."
Youth academy product Mason, who provided Erik Lamela with Spurs' second goal against Burnley, has made 12 Premier League starts for the north London club this season.
