Tottenham are chasing Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle face a battle to hold on to midfielder Tiote.
The 24-year-old has been a revelation this season since signing from FC Twente for £3.5m and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is keen if he struggles to sign Scott Parker or Blackburn's Phil Jones.
Manager Alan Pardew will be very reluctant to sell though after wrapping him up on a six year contract in February.
