Former Manchester United striker van Nistelrooy, 34, claims he is weighing up offers from Tottenham and Malaga while Blackburn Rovers are also believed to be interested.
Tottenham boss Redknapp tried for van Nistelrooy in the past and is keen to shake-up his strike force with Espanyol's Pablo Osvaldo also on his list.
But van Nistelrooy has told Malaga that Spurs are interested and want an answer in the next 48 hours on the offer of a two-year contract.
