Tottenham fullback Davies: Rose injury helped me develop

Tottenham Hotspur fullback Ben Davies believes Danny Rose going down with injury helped him to develop consistency last season.

Despite being rotated with Rose on occasion, Davies was stuck behind the England international for the first half of the season.

However, after Rose went down with a knee injury at the end of January, Davies stepped up and was an important part of Spurs' late title challenge.

"I think it's been nice to have a run of games. Especially as a full-back, every game has to be about consistency and the more games you can play in a row the better really.

"When you get that run of games, you get that little bit sharper, a little bit fresher and sometimes that just comes with playing.

"It's been nice to have got a couple of goals at the other end as well. I've really enjoyed playing in the last few months and I feel I've been doing alright."
