Tottenham fullback Benoit Assou-Ekotto is happy seeing more and more Africans in the Premier League.

Assou-Ekotto rates the English top flight highly and reckons its growing African contingent is no surprise, six years since signing from Ligue 1 club Lens.

He said: "The Premier League, for me, is the best league in Europe so it is very hard to play here.

"But I think many people want to play in the league.

"Maybe the African players have the best adaptation to the Premier League."
