Tottenham forced to delete tweet mocking Liverpool

Tottenham were forced to delete a tweet last night mocking Liverpool's collapse at Crystal Palace.

The Daily Mail reports the club's official Twitter account - @SpursOfficial - posted a vine that encapsulated the Reds' dismal last week, documenting the way in which their bid for the Premier League title has fallen by the wayside.

"Brutal but very funny," the tweet read. "The biggest capitulation since Newcastle in the 90s."

A short video was attached to the tweet, which spanned from Steven Gerrard's now infamous huddle following the win against Manchester City right through to Palace manager Tony Pulis grinning away during a previous post-match interview.

The tweet, which was given eight minutes online time before being hauled down, sparked fury from Liverpool fans.

Spurs later apologised and said they were looking at security issues, claiming that "the post was not tweeted by anyone affiliated" with the club.
