Tottenham fans stoked Arsenal are out of Champions League - Crouch

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch says the reaction of Spurs fans to their Champions League campaign so far fills the players with plenty of confidence.

The North London club edged through to the quarter-finals of the competition with a 1-0 aggregate win over AC Milan thanks to the goalless draw at White Hart Lane last night.

The triumph came just 24 hours after arch rivals Arsenal were knocked out by favourites Barcelona and Crouch said the fans are loving it.

"I heard the fans singing about Arsenal being out of the competition. It has clearly gone down well with them and it's an added bonus for the team," Crouch said.

Spurs now feel they are capable of taking on any contender in the final eight and Crouch welcomed the Catalan giants who were far too good for the Gunners at the Nou Camp with a 3-1 second leg win.

"Barcelona were a joy to watch against Arsenal but we've got match-winners in our dressing room and we've proved we can be resilient, so why can't we get to the final?" he added.

"Barcelona are the team to beat and if we drew them in the next round it would be difficult but on our day at White Hart Lane and with the crowd behind us, we can beat anyone."
