Tottenham face stiff competition for Independiente defender Julian Velazquez.

Spurs have made contact with Independiente to register their interest in the 21 year-old Argentina international.

However, since the news broke, it's emerged Barcelona have also been in contact for Velazquez, who carries a price-tag of £5 million.
