Tottenham face competition for Inter Milan midfielder Patrick Vieira.

The Times says Vieira, 33, has one year left on his £85,000-a-week deal with the Italian champions, but would want compensation for missing out on a year's salary that is higher than he would receive should he return to the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur have offered around £60,000 a week to the France midfield player, who played for nine years at Arsenal. It is believed that Vieira has reconsidered this offer after an initial rejection. Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed an interest but without tabling offers.
