Chris Samba's comments that he wants out of Blackburn Rovers will spark a January market scramble for his services.
The Daily Mail says Samba, 26, is tied to Ewood Park until 2014 after signing a new deal a year ago, and Blackburn value their prized asset at £8million, although £6m would be more realistic.
Tottenham have previously shown an interest and Samba's comments are bound to alert his old boss Mark Hughes at Fulham.
Sunderland will be in the market for a centre back if they fail to sign on-loan Nedum Onuoha on a permanent deal from Manchester City, while Everton could also enter the race after Phil Jagielka was ruled out for up to six weeks.
