Tottenham eager to rush home after Audi Cup as Man Utd opener looms

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he wants to fly his players home from Germany on Wednesday night.

Spurs are in Munich as part of the 2015 Audi Cup alongside Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, German champions Bayern Munich and Italian giants AC Milan.

Tottenham are due to fly back to London on Thursday, however, the manager is eager to get home as quickly as possible as the 2015/16 Premier League season looms closer.

Pochettino's side take on the Rossoneri in the third-place play-off on Wednesday evening after losing 2-0 to Real on Tuesday but the Argentine has Saturday's season opener with Manchester United at the forefront of his mind.

"We want to try and travel after our game (on Wednesday night)," he said.

"We need to speak to our people at the club and try to rearrange the flight. It may be better if we arrive on Wednesday in London.

"It is true it is a rush but it is not a problem."
