Reports suggest that Tottenham are very interested in Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.
It is believed that Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is prepared to offer £12million plus players to land the 22-year old Scottish-born Republic of Ireland international.
The Latics want around £20m for McCarthy but Spurs do not want to match that fee and are looking to offer the likes of Harry Kane and other youngsters to the relegated outfit.
