Tottenham don't need to sign players for title tilt – Dembele

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Dembele does not think that his side need to spend heavily this summer in order to compete for the Premier League title.

While the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all spent heavily in the transfer window so far, Spurs have surprisingly not brought in a single new player to north London this summer.

Many feel that Tottenham could hurt their title chances for the upcoming campaign by not strengthening the squad but midfielder Moussa Dembele is of the opinion that the current Spurs side is good enough to compete for the Premier League crown even without the influx of new players.

Dembele said: "Exactly like a family, it's a very good thing to have a group that stays together and understands each other as well.

"The first year with the manager was different because it was a new philosophy, and now the last few years everybody understands what he means, everybody knows what to do.

"We don't change five or six players, you have to start over with new players. I think this way to do it is very good. The quality we have now - everybody is looking in the same direction.

"We concentrate on the team we have now. If the team stays like this, we know that like last year we're going to have a good season. We're very positive."
