Tottenham have moved for Galatasaray winger Arda Turan.

The Daily Mail says Spurs have opened preliminary talks over a proposed deal for Galatasaray captain Turan with the possibility of Giovani dos Santos going the other way.

Highly-rated Turkey international Turan has been on Tottenham's radar for the past 18 months and sources in Turkey say they have offered £4million plus Mexican Dos Santos for the 23-year-old.

That's likely to fall short of Galatasaray's valuation for a player who is such a popular figure at the club but Turan is keen to come to the Premier League and London in particular.

Only last month Turan confessed he was a mad Liverpool fan and would love a move to Anfield.
