Tottenham have opened new talks with Real Madrid for striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Daily Mail says Tottenham remain hopeful that Huntelaar's preference for a move to the Barclays Premier League will see Real Madrid accept payment in instalments for the Holland striker.
Stuttgart have agreed a £15.5m fee with Real and are prepared to pay up front, but 25-year-old Huntelaar is stalling in the hope Spurs can thrash out a deal with the Spanish giants.
Tottenham have offered staggered payments and the negotiations will not be made any easier by the fact £6m of any transfer fee is owed to Huntelaar's former club Ajax.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp sees the Dutchman as a perfect foil for Jermain Defoe and is prepared to offer a deal which comes close to the £65,000-a-week he earns at the Bernabeu.
