Tottenham thoroughly deserved at least something from their home meeting with Manchester United on Sunday.
Spurs and United played out a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane after Kyle Walker opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a low free-kick before Wayne Rooney equalised just after the half-hour mark.
Tottenham again edged ahead when Sandro produced a sublime effort ten minutes to the second half but Rooney was able to pull level when he converted form the penalty spot before the hour-mark.
After the match, Villas-Boas felt a draw was probably the right result as he praised his players for recoiling from last weekend's 6-0 defeat to Manchester City.
"A very good first and second half," he said.
"We had great chances to go 2-0 up in the first half.
"So I think we deserved something. It was a good response to the heavy defeat that we took at Man City.
"Not perfect because perfect would have been to win the game but a good response from a group of players that want to do well. It keeps us in touch with the group at the top and gives us the motivation to go forward."
