Tottenham delighted with consistency of summer signing Friedel

Tottenham assistant Kevin Bond says goalkeeper Brad Friedel's number one shirt is 'his to lose'.

The American veteran has been brilliant for Spurs since his summer arrival from Aston Villa and despite Carlo Cudicini's quality performance in last night's 1-0 Europa League loss to Rubin Kazan, Friedel will take the gloves for this Sunday's short trip to Fulham.

"At the moment, the way things are going for Brad, the shirt is his to lose. He is playing really well for us in the league and he has played so many consecutive matches," Bond said.

"We are not playing him because of that run of consecutive games, but because he has showed that level of consistency to warrant playing in the league."
