Tottenham and England defender Kyle Walker has issued an apology after images of him inhaling 'hippy crack' emerged on the world wide web.
The 23-year old was photographed inhaling the legal but potentially harmful nitrous oxide substance at a nightclub in his native Sheffield and subsequently released a statement to Sportsmail explaining his actions.
"I have now been made aware of the health risks associated with the practice and accept that my actions were of poor judgement," said Walker in a statement issued by he and Tottenham.
"I hope this will in no way influence or encourage others into putting their own health at risk."
Walker added on Twitter:
Apologies for not commenting sooner on a story about me today. I've been training and am focussed on Tuesday's game for England— Kyle Walker (@kylewalker2) September 8, 2013
